2) Topsoil Supply: Screened topsoil installed to city-required depth.
3) Laser-Level Finish: Set to proper slope away from house and toward swale.
4) Compaction: Rolled and checked for stability without over compacting the root zone.
5) Verification: Benchmarks and elevations double-checked with laser receiver.

Yes — in Alberta, rough grade must be approved first.
Think of it like school: rough grade is the draft, and final grade is the one your municipality actually marks… and we like to pass with flying colors.
Final grade is the last layer of premium topsoil, smoothed and shaped to meet Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, and Sherwood Park drainage standards.
Yep. And don’t worry — we build it to pass the first time.
We’ve done enough grading inspections to know what they want (and what they absolutely do not want).
Most final grades take half a day to one full day, depending on soil depth, yard size, and access. Backyards with gates the width of a toaster may take a touch longer.
We only use screened, high-quality topsoil — never fill dirt.
Your sod will thank you, your drainage will thank you, and your future self will definitely thank you.
Absolutely — most of our grading is for new builds in Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, and Sherwood Park. We fix builder “soil art” shape the yard properly, and prep everything for sod or landscaping.

A proper final grade:
A few things:
It depends if you have hired McLeod's or not. No it doesn't, 100% you can. We final grade → pass inspection → install sod → roll it → water it → have a BBQ in your new yard.
